Our Client

The Company manufactures and markets a portfolio of internationally recognized brands, which are sold in over 120 countries, including 3 of the top 5 worldwide brands in the industry, generating sales in excess of USD 10 billion. The Company is currently recruiting a high-potential Corporate Legal Counsel to strengthen the legal department in the Netherlands.

The Position

The Corporate Legal Counsel will report directly to the Corporate Secretary based in HQ Geneva and has a dotted reporting line to the CFO of the Dutch Holding Company. The position is highly visible in the organization, with exposure to senior management in HQ and senior staff in numerous operating companies across the world. The Company supports talent development through training programs, geared at aligning the employee's career aspirations and skills with the Company's strategy and needs. The Company culture can be defined as international, challenging, dynamic and informal. The Corporate Legal Counsel is responsible for all legal work for several Dutch entities, supported by two paralegals:

Perform risk assessments and define effective legal strategies.
Introduce structural improvements in corporate governance.
Provide legal opinions under Dutch law.
Coordinate, prepare and oversee the creation of all necessary legal documents, ensuring they are accurate, protected, indexed, and kept up to date, all in accordance with applicable law and compliance requirements.
Maintain the corporate and shareholder records for the Company.
Pro-actively manage two direct reports.

The Profile

A Dutch law degree.
4 to 8 years of experience in the Legal Dept of a multinational company or in a Law Firm (top tier).
Dynamic, ambitious and open minded personality.
Strive for quality and process improvements.
Visionary, but also eye for detail.
Strong multi-tasking skills, hands-on and pro-active mentality.
Excellent people management and organizational skills.
Team player, ability to communicate effectively at various levels across the organization.
Fluent in English, spoken and written. French is an asset.
