Our Client

ASML's Corporate Legal Department is responsible for achieving the optimum legal position of ASML and its business in a broad range of legal areas such as Contracting and Litigation as well as Corporate Governance and Compliance. The Legal Department consists of a small group of highly empowered, business oriented lawyers with broad responsibilities who enjoy working in an international, high-tech and high-speed environment.On behalf of ASML we would like to get in touch with experienced commercial contracts lawyers for the position of Senior legal counsel.

The Position
  • Negotiating and drafting mostly high-tech related contracts, in particular in relation to ASML's core Research & Development and Outsourcing activities that represent a value of approximately 2 billion euro/year. These contracts are often of a complex nature with a strong technological and intellectual property component, covering for example strategic alliances, outsourcing, (joint-) research, (OEM-) manufacturing, licensing, consortium and consultancy contracts.
  • To be an internal advisor in the above areas from more than just the pure legal perspective.
  • To direct both national and international law firms that support the Corporate Legal Department in expertise matters.
  • Your external interfaces: worldwide business partners of ASML like the major technology companies in the world as well as research institutes and universities.
  • Your internal interfaces: ranging from the ASML's R&D and commercial Departments to the ASML Board Room.
The Profile
  • At least 5-10 years relevant experience in an international (technological) business environment;
  • Excellent drafting skills in a wide variety of contracts;
  • Experience in intellectual property contracting is preferred;
  • Good negotiator, business and result oriented;
  • Multicultural and multidisciplinary understanding;
  • Motivated and enthusiastic team player;
  • Willing to travel occasionally within Europe and to the US and Asia.
