The Voxius history

Read the Voxius history in a nutshell. Distinct and inspiring!

September 2010

At the end of the third quarter of 2010 and on the 50th anniversary of Randstad, the management team of Voxius has taken over the complete majority interest in Voxius from Randstad. The members of the management team of Voxius are Marije Bedaux, Terry Verheij, Hielke Bruin and founder Ruud Harinck.

2010
Our focus on quality and service pays off well. Although the economic slump hasn’t passed Voxius by, we have managed to stand firm. We are going into the New Year with our sleeves rolled up.

2009
More and more Voxius is operating in the international market. There is an increasing demand for native English speaking lawyers in the Netherlands. The infinite Voxius network is bearing fruit. In November our ‘family friend’ Richard Susskind will be speaking at the Voxius seminar.

2008
Randstad incorporated the Vedior concern. With new majority shareholder further growth of international networks in legal recruitment is assured.
Terry Verheij was appointed as Voxius partner and now leads the ‘Amsterdam office’.

2007
Voxius was founded 10 years ago. On Thursday the 21st of June 2007 we celebrated our tenth anniversary in the ‘Groothandelsgebouw’ in Rotterdam, where Voxius has operated from since its founding. In the summer of 2007 Voxius opened its second office in ‘WTC-Amsterdam’ in order to meet the increasing demand.

2006
In December 2006 Vedior bought the majority of the shares in Voxius, an organization setting an example in recruitment and reassignment and active in legal recruitment on several continents. With this, Voxius created a bridgehead to international legal recruitment networks in, among others the United Kingdom, France, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Australia and the United States. A prominent global player in these networks is London based Hughes Castell, with whom Voxius will be working closely.

2005
Hielke Bruin became a partner. Starting off as a tax specialist, he has worked for major law firms and companies.

2003
In 2003 Peter Milders was made a partner. With 14 years of experience as corporate legal advisor in the oil industry and in real estate, he more than anyone else knows what he is talking about.

2002
A change of name: Voxius. Growth has set in. Voxius clients were and still are, the larger part of the top 100 Dutch companies and multinationals based in the Netherlands, as well as the major law firms. Voxius’ personal approach took root. Fine legal advisors quickly found their way to Voxius. The network kept expanding and is now unrivalled.

1998
Vermeulen could not miss his beloved planes and at the end of 1998 he returned to aviation. Harinck expanded the company even further. An increase in international activity and legal influence on business, gave Voxius an early start. Because of the increasing difficulty in finding the right lawyer for the job, Voxius added Legal Search to Lease a Lawyer®. This led to a steady increase in and a balanced expansion of their activities.

1997
Ruud Harinck and Leo Vermeulen founded HV&Partners. Both started their career as lawyers in private practice and were colleagues at Transavia Airlines. In February 1997 HV&Partners saw first light, on the 7th floor of the ‘Groothandelsgebouw’ in Rotterdam. HV: not just Harinck&Vermeulen, also the Transavia airline code.

1995
In 1995 Ruud Harinck was working as senior manager for Ernst & Young, where he created the concept of Lease a Lawyer®. The phenomenon of interim legal advisory becoming an independent profession, was then not yet heard of. In 1996 Harinck himself, became the first temporary legal advisor in the Netherlands to be allied as Senior Attorney to two of DSM’s business groups for a period of 10 months. In his hotel room at night, he wrote the business plans that he later drew up with Leo Vermeulen. The rest is all history.
